Publishing Grades

There are two ways to publish grades in Brightspace:

a. Use the assessment tool itself, for example, assignments, quizzes, or discussions

Use the Quick Eval tool.

Publishing Grades for Assignments

1. To publish grades for an assignment, navigate to Assessments in the top navigation bar and choose Assignments.

2. Find the assignment that you wish to grade and select it. You'll be presented with a list of students that have submitted their assignment. You can either select their name or Go to Evaluation on the right-hand side.

3. Here you can select their submission to view it and then either use a rubric if you're using one or just simply type in their overall grade. You can also add in feedback.

4. At the bottom of the screen, there are two options: You can publish the grade and feedback right away, or you can save draft if you wish to publish all grades at the same time.

5. Save a draft for each of the students, navigating through each of the submissions using this next arrow in the top right-hand corner.

6. Once you have completed saving drafts for all students, select this box that highlights all of your students and then choose Publish All. You can also choose the “Publish Feedback” button.

Publishing Grades for Quizzes

1. Select Assessments from the top navigation menu and then choose Quizzes.

2. Find the quiz that you would like to grade, select the drop-down arrow beside it and choose grade:

3. Select the attempt and go through adding grades and adding feedback.

4. You'll notice in the bottom right-hand side you have the option to save, draft, or publish.

5. You can navigate through each of the submissions using the next arrow.

6. If you would like to publish grades all at once, save draft and when you're finished, go back, check the box that highlights all of your students and choose Publish.

Publishing Grades for Discussions

1. Navigate to Communications in the navigation bar and choose Discussions

2. Select the discussion you want to grade; then, in the drop-down menu select Assess Topic.
